Last year, RHLS was involved in the negotiation of a Community Benefits Agreement between Philadelphia community groups and a developer in North Philadelphia, Be A Gem Crossing. One of the community leaders involved in that process was Ms. Cynthia Barnes, Chair of the Nicetown-Tioga Improvement Team and Community Education Coordinator with the Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Services.

Podcast hosts Leon and De’Wayne do a deep dive into Cynthia Barnes’ 30 plus years of community organizing in Nicetown-Tioga. Ms. Barnes explains how to negotiate community benefits agreements and what she’s learned about collaboration in the process. Listen here to the interview with Ms. Cynthia Barnes.
