Laura Schwartz, Regional Housing Legal Services’ Director of Economic Development, will speak about her efforts to assist in the development of housing for survivors of domestic violence at the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence Conference: Building Safer Communities through Equality and Justice on Friday, October 10th at 1:00 PM in Harrisburg.
Laura handled all of the legal work for renovations to Sojourner House, Women Against Abuse’s transitional housing facility for families that have survived domestic violence. Completed in the summer of 2013, renovations to Sojourner House added three additional apartments to the facility. She additionally provided assistance in the beginning stages of their newest shelter, which will provide 100 critically needed beds to survivors in Philadelphia.
