CohnReznick LLP has published a comprehensive review of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit portfolio 25 years after the creation of the program. The study finds a critical shortage of affordable housing, and that the demand for tax credits has exceeded the supply nearly every year for the last 15 years. Further, the study finds that most individual LIHTC properties are in high demand, with a consistent national occupancy rate of 96%.
