HEMAP Help Center Reopens

What is the HEMAP Help Center?

The HEMAP Help Center is a web-based service for homeowners facing foreclosure in Pennsylvania. Regional Housing Legal Services (RHLS) created the HEMAP Help Center in response to the low number of people being approved for HEMAP, which was believed to be due in part to the difficulty homeowners had understanding and responding to the essay sections of the HEMAP application. Neither RHLS nor the HEMAP Help Center is affiliated with PHFA.

How Does the HEMAP Help Center Work?

 The HEMAP Help Center assists applicants by:

  • Providing online information about the HEMAP program, application, and other resources for homeowners facing foreclosure;
  • Offering a free and prompt review of draft answers for the essay portions of the HEMAP application; and
  • Providing additional individualized feedback on issues related to the foreclosure, such as predatory lending, as appropriate.
