35th Anniversary

On May 7, 2009, RHLS celebrated 35th years of providing free legal assistance to nonprofit organizations in Pennsylvania. The event brought together more than 200 people committed to affordable housing, economic development, and sustainable communities. Thank you again to all of our amazing sponsors and donors!

In addition to celebrating work that has enabled our clients to leverage hundreds of millions of dollars to preserve and develop tens of thousands of affordable housing units, we also honored a number of individuals who have served as vital partners and advocates for affordable, sustainable housing in Pennsylvania.

In recognition of their efforts to help revitalize the Neighborhood Assistance Program in Pennsylvania.

* Carol Clark Lawrence & Frank Porazza

In recognition of their leadership in providing private investment to support mortgage foreclosure prevention efforts.

In recognition of his commitment and dedication to low-income residential energy issues in Philadelphia.

* Richard Cantor

In recognition of his support for the creation of RHLS’s HEMAP website, which has helped thousands of Pennsylvanians since its creation.

* Senator Jay Costa

In recognition of his many efforts to support access to justice, legal services funding, and neighborhood revitalization efforts throughout Pennsylvania.

* Brian Hudson

Received the Ernestine Watlington award. Ernestine Watlington was a strong voice, both locally and nationally, for the empowerment and revitalization of distressed communities. RHLS gives this award to Brian Hudson in recognition of his efforts to foster the ideals advocated by Ernestine.
