Dina Schlossberg to become Executive Director of Regional Housing Legal Services

A message from the Board of Directors of Regional Housing Legal Services:

To our Friends and Supporters,

The Regional Housing Legal Services (RHLS) Board of Directors is delighted to announce that Dina Schlossberg, currently the RHLS Deputy Director/Senior Attorney for Multi-family Housing, will become the next Executive Director of RHLS as of August 1st, 2021.

The Board of Directors conducted an extensive, broad, and open search for our next Executive Director, and we were thrilled to find our next leader within our own talented team. Dina brings to this role an extraordinary combination of deep expertise in affordable housing and development and a strong commitment to economic justice. She is uniquely qualified to lead RHLS into a new era of growth, rooted in our solid foundation.

Dina has devoted her entire professional career to providing housing and economic opportunity in underserved communities and to addressing issues of housing affordability, systemic poverty, and racial justice. Much of that career has been spent at RHLS, serving our clients, expanding our client services and our client base, working with our funders and supporters, and supervising and supporting our legal and administrative staff. Dina is also a leader in the legal community; she is a writer, an editor, and a speaker on topics related to affordable housing and community development; she has served as an adjunct/visiting professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, the University of Pennsylvania School of City and Regional Planning, the Earle Mack School of Law at Drexel University and the Temple University Beasley School of Law; she is a past Chair of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law and is the current Chair of the Forum’s publications; and, she has served and continues to serve as a director on the boards of many local organizations, including Community Legal Services/Philadelphia Legal Assistance and the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations.

Under Dina’s leadership RHLS will continue to provide expert, creative, and collaborative legal services to our clients and will continue to be a trusted and strategic leader and partner in statewide housing and development policy. Dina’s vision for the future of RHLS also includes transformational change, including centering racial justice more intentionally in the work that RHLS does and within the organization, strengthening the internal operations of the organization and support for our staff, serving new communities, and growing as a national leader in affordable housing, community development and transactional legal services.

Dina’s passion for this work is rooted in her core belief that housing is a fundamental human right; we have full confidence that with Dina as Executive Director, RHLS will be a leader in the work of transforming that belief into reality.

Sincerely,

Adena Herskovitz
